Motherhood

One year of breastfeeding you

I have been breastfeeding for almost 2 years straight (2 different babes) & we have now officially hit one year with Amina. My body carried her for 9 months and then my breast milk on ONE boob sustained her for a year, no supplementing & no bottles. I plan to continue until she is ready to wean.

It has not always been easy, but I am so so grateful I have been able to go this long and feed both of my babies this way. It seriously took a lot of dedication, determination, tears and I had many days of self doubt. I breastfed through my PPD, through mastitis, through teething, reflux, allergies, tongue tie.

We DID IT…Now for another year!

Cheers to all you mamas who have breastfed for a day, a week, a month, a year, or 2 and beyond. You are fricken amazing!

Side note: this post is not intended to bash mamas who never breastfed or those who supplemented, or bottle fed at all. You are all amazing and doing the best you can do!!! I salute all mamas doin’ their damn best!
