Motherhood Post-partum

To my post-partum self..

You created a human being. A healthy human being and then you laboured for hours
and then you gave birth. Now you are feeding them with your body.
You are fucking amazing.

Stop being so hard on yourself.
You may have loose skin, stretch marks and not fit into your jeans right now.
But please know, that is okay. Be kind to yourself.

Your old body is gone now.
The old you is gone.
You have grown & shed your old skin.

Let yourself cry, cry all the tears.
You don’t have to keep it together all the time.
Stop trying to be perfect; It’s literally impossible and you will kill yourself trying to be.
Accept the help that is offered and don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Rest as much as you can. Even if you feel good.
Your body needs and deserves it.

Don’t forget about yourself. It isn’t selfish to take care of you.
Your children deserve you at your best & you can’t
do that if you are not taking care of yourself too.
Take care of your mental AND physical health.

If you feel alone, know that you are not alone.
The journey of motherhood is tough, but there are
so many supportive mamas out there that are going
through what you are going through.

This new body has created life. Done amazing, magical things.
I respect my body. I love my new body. I love who I have become.

Always, always remember this….

You.Are.Enough.
